Russia to compete with US on Saudi Arabian oil servicing market

MOSCOW, Nov 1 (PRIME) -- Russia plans to compete with the U.S. on the oil servicing market of Saudi Arabia, Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Vasily Osmakov told PRIME on Wednesday.

“American companies, not only servicing firms been working here for a long time. They built everything here. Oil and gas servicing, supplies of equipment – is a very sluggish thing, and I is comprehensive. It is difficult to compete on other people’s market, but we will do it,” he said.

Russia has products to offer to Saudi Arabia in the sector. A Novosibirsk company already sells catalysts for Saudi Aramco. “Now we’ve brought a company from Nizhny Novgorod that will export another type of catalysts,” he said.

Russia plans to bring a delegation of specialists to a conference of Saudi Aramco suppliers. “We will have an Arctic forum in St. Petersburg, where we also want to hold a working meeting,” he said.
